I DON'T UNDERSTAND

How do you get up in the morning and have no hope?

It makes sense why people believe they need so many things to cope.

I get it, life can bring so much pain,

but how can you keep living without God and feel sane?

No matter what is thrown at me,

I can always run to the Lord, for His presence is where I feel free.

How do you keep on going with no purpose,

because everything on earth could fail us?

If you put your hope in your gifts,

what happens when your life completely shifts?

I’m sure you've heard of the athlete whose injury changed their life,

or the man whose world was wrecked because of his cheating wife.

People will let you down,

and certain things may not always be around.

Take Covid-19 as an example,

sports cancelled, self-isolation, plans in shambles.

No wonder our generation has the highest anxiety and depression levels;

don’t you think that all of this chaos is a part of the plans of the devil?

Satan comes to steal, kill, and destroy;

he wants to rob us of our joy.

How do you set your moral compass if you aren’t basing it off of the Word?

Do you just stick to what is preferred?

How do you know what is good or bad?

What do you do when you feel completely sad or utterly mad?

You might struggle with the thought of How powerful God is professed to be,

but I struggle with the thought of there not being someone powerful enough to foresee.

How do you live with the fear of ruined plans?

I have the peace that my life is in God’s hands.

You might be saying “I don't understand how you do believe in God,”

but I don't understand how you don’t believe in what is beyond.

Life would feel meaningless and useless,

Oh man, it would be so ruthless.

I do recognize that it can be hard to understand,

but I hope and pray that you will experience God’s presence firsthand.
